4 Budget Moisturisers!

After posting about Budget Cleansers and Budget Toners and Exfoliators, it’s now time for moisturisers! A lot of moisturisers have been through my door lately, but not all of them have been impressive or worth words, as harsh as it is to say. Fortunately, there are a couple of worthy mentions, all of which are in this post. First up is the Australian Bodycare Tea Tree Oil Balancing Face Cream 50ml at around £10. I love tea tree for my oily, spot prone skin and this range is absolutely lovely. So far I’ve tried the cleanser, toner and moisturiser with body products coming up shortly and I love everything.
4 Budget Moisturisers!
The Australian Bodycare Face Cream is a light cream, aimed at oily combination skin. The blend of Tea Tree Oil, Saw Palmetto and Argan Oil work together to help reduce the production of sebum, therefore helping prevent breakouts, blemishes and blackheads. However, despite these moisturising ingredients, it leaves the skin with a matt and even appearance, but that doesn’t make it amazing to put makeup on top as there isn’t a soft and moisturised surface to blend against. It’d be better on days where you want a foundation free face or at night time.
A similar texture to the tea tree face cream is the Pro Formula Fresh Skin Balancing Oil Free Moisturiser at £2.99 from, Beauty at Tesco. It’s aimed for all skin types and contains grapefruit and cranberry which you can definitely smell, the smell is actually quite lovely. It is another fast drying and mattifying moisturiser but it just takes a tad longer, which means if you’re quick with your makeup, you’ll have a soft surface to blend into. It also contains salicylic acid to help the skin be clean and healthy looking, along with Vitamin C.
Finally the Q10 Day and Night Cream Set from Pharma Nord at £25.90 for the twin set. These creams are completely different as they are so beautifully moisturising for quite a while after application, which is usually what most of us want from a moisturiser. They are meant to provide 24 hours of moisturising treatment, obviously an exaggeration, but they’re not far off. The day cream is designed to treat dry skin and loss of collagen whilst the night cream is intensely moisturising and helps to regenerate the skin overnight. They’re both paraben free and suitable for all skin types. These are definitely my favourites lately as although I have oily skin, if I don’t moisturise properly my makeup does become hideous.
Marula Pure Facial Oil

However, if you do like living the luxury life then you need to try Marula Pure Facial Oil at £38, as it is absolutely heavenly. It’s lightweight yet nourishing and helps to really hydrate the skin whilst absorbing quickly. It doesn’t leave an oily, greasy surface and instead helps to provide the skin with improved elasticity. It has around 60% more antioxidants than Argan Oil, which we all rave about. Marula oil is completely natural as it doesn’t need any head or chemicals added to it at all, instead you just get the full benefits of this oil.It can be used on all skin types, including my oily skin but it’s probably best to use it at night so it has longer to sink in. You can even add a couple drops into your favourite cleanser, mask or other products to boost benefits! I do love a multipurpose product.

  • The Australian Bodycare one sounds fab, I’d definitely have a go at applying my make-up over it as my skin is super-duper oily! Anything that can help keep me matte for more than an hour is worth a shot for me 🙂

  • Moisturizers are tricky I find. Having oily skin that is very sensitive and also easily dehydrated makes the task of finding a good moisturizer difficult. The ones aimed at oily skin are usually too drying and that flares up my skin as it is very sensitive, it can’t be too moisturizing because then it will increase my sebum production. Annoying!
